Longhope Playgroup is run by our Playleader, Vanessa Meek and Deputy Playleader, Trudy Armstrong. We also have Tracy Bayliss as our Play Assistant.
Vanessa is the named person for SENCO and communication, language & literacy. Trudy is the named person for Safeguarding Children and Behavior. Tracy is the named person for health and safety. All staff hold the relevant qualifications in
day-care or education. Opportunities are provided for staff to continue training in order to keep their skills up to date.
There is a high ratio of adults to children in our pre-school, normally better than 1:6, ensuring that each child receives a high level of attention.
With our keyworker system:
|
Each member of staff has particular responsibility for a small number of children. |
|
Each child has one special adult, their keyworker, to relate to, so helping with settling in. |
|
The keyworker can easily tailor the curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child. |
|
Parent and carer contact is focused on one member of staff, so allowing a better link to the home setting. |
Longhope Playgroup is an equal opportunity employer.
We also work closely with PATA (www.patauk.org.uk) the UK's advisory association for the running of childcare organisations.
We do not have a uniform but we do offer a sweatshirt and a polo shirt with Longhope Playgroup logo on the front. To order, please ask a member of staff.
